Outdoor and patio textiles are soft goods specified for exterior or semi-exterior use. The differentiating requirements against indoor product are UV colour-fastness, moisture behaviour, and dimensional stability under temperature cycling. The commercial complication is that the Gulf and European outdoor seasons run on different calendars and different comfort expectations.
Specifying a textile without knowing the end use is how the wrong fill weight and the wrong construction get ordered. These are the real commercial applications.

Because the seasons do not align and the performance requirements differ. A European spring outdoor range and a Gulf winter terrace range are sold at different times, to different comfort expectations, and with different UV loads. Building one product for both means it is optimised for neither.
Solution-dyed acrylic — the pigment is added to the fibre before extrusion rather than applied to the finished yarn, so it does not wash out under UV. It costs more than standard polyester but it is the difference between a textile that survives two seasons and one that does not.
Yes. Reticulated foam has an open cell structure that lets water drain and air circulate, so the cushion dries after rain. Standard domestic foam holds water and will mould. For cushions that stay outside, this is not optional.
